2020: The Year of the Window Newsletter

Original Windows

The self-proclaimed Year of the Window starts on January 1st. Are you ready? Is there plenty of window work to do at your house too? To help myself and all of my fellow window warriors focused, I’ll be sending out a weekly email newsletter.

The newsletter will complement regular blog posts here. It will include tips, motivation, progress notes, and I would love to feature some of your window projects too. If you would like to receive the weekly window restoration newsletter, please sign up using the form below.

Rest assured, if reading about original windows isn’t your thing, there will be plenty of blog posts throughout the year about other topics too.

If you are joining me for The Year of the Window. Ready. Set. Go!

I was just drooling over another window restoration/bankruptcy/divorce opportunity that came on the market that I again won’t be looking at. But I’m excited to restore windows vicariously through you

No matter how much work I have here, I still browse old house real estate. I can’t stop! 😀

I have done a big portion of the restoration on my original windows (replaced broken glass, replaced the glass with new glazing compound on all windows, new paint, new pulley ropes). What I haven’t done is weatherstripping.. At first I was researching to find the best solution. (So much information to weed through & then figure out how all those solutions would work, or not work, for my situations!) I have decided what I am going to do, but 3 years later still have yet to do it. I am hoping your progress will be my inspiration to finally make it happen!!

Hi Marcia, Thank you for your comment. There are so many options for weatherstripping. I also find that different regions have different weatherstripping needs. Do you feel this way too? Hopefully, you’ll be able to move forward on your project, and perhaps you’ll have some tips for the rest of us.
