We are still on target for a May 30 close date. Our lives thus far, have been filled with the inane details and regulations of real estate and bank loans.
My day dreaming about renovations has increased just a little. However, the reality of all of the boring, but necessary repairs we must address first, has been a little crushing too.
I do often wonder if we will enjoy living in such a large house. My childhood home was about 1/2 of the size of the first floor of this house. Our previous home in California was about 2/3 of the size of the first floor. Living in a large space will be very new to me.

I’ll be interested to hear how you do enjoy such a big space. There are definitely pros and cons!

I’m just sitting here poking around your blog and reading posts I haven’t read before, and I NEED to know – ARE you enjoying living in such a large space? Our new house is also the biggest either of us has ever lived in, and I love it (that may be partially due to being traumatized from being squashed into a tiny house with so many people and animals for eight years, though). I’m not in love with how long it takes to vacuum JUST the downstairs, but on the other hand, dog hair has a lot more room to spread out so it’s not as noticeable as quickly as in the postage-stamp-sized old house.
So, tell me… What are your feelings about living in a giant house?

I wanted to answer this yesterday, but I was kind of stumped to come up with the real answer. I think it may have to be a blog post sometime. I think I like it, but it has its challenges.

One of those challenges being the sheer amount of trim to paint? Because damn. That’s a lot of trim to paint.

Yes. Absolutely, yes!
