Are you ready for the Blake Hill House Podcast? It’s happening; it’s really happening!
Over a year ago, I began interviewing people for the podcast launch locally and across the USA. One day, after I had a particularly energizing conversation with someone, I remember saying to Andy, This is what I was meant to do. I love everything about this project. Not one to mince words, he said something along the lines of, Of course, you do. You eat that $h*t up. He was talking about my love for talking to people.
He’s right. I do love talking to people, and when I get to chat with others who share a passion for old houses, my internal happiness meter nearly explodes.
After recording hours and hours of audio, a harsh reality presented itself. It turns out a podcast is a whole lot more than just “talking to people.” Whatever. The learning curve for the editing software was steep. More than once, I stepped away from the project altogether out of sheer frustration.
I devoted hours and money learning how to turn this dream into something worth presenting to the public. Eventually, I learned enough to be dangerous, and that’s where we are today. Mistakes have been made, but hey, nobody is perfect, right?
Mark your calendars because the big day is, Wednesday, September 5.
The Blake Hill House Podcast in a Nutshell
The BHH podcast is an extension of this blog. On the podcast, I’ll talk about our current projects as well as fun information relevant to everyone who loves old houses and vintage items. Although the first episode serves as primarily as an introduction, future episodes will include project Q&A, games, and answers to the burning questions that I have been asking in Instagram Stories. (Be sure to join us there for more fun!)
Also in each episode, there will be an interview with someone else who has an interesting story to tell. By far, talking to our guests and listening to their stories has been the most rewarding part of this whole project.
Episodes will be released bi-weekly, and they are each around 30-45 minutes long.
How and Where to Listen
At the top of this page, you’ll find a link to subscribe to our podcast update e-mail list. Before now, the list was used to keep folks informed about how the project was going. Now, I will use it to send out e-mail notification when a new episode is released. If you have already subscribed to the blog or the podcast e-mail list, there is no need to make a change. You’re good.
If subscribing to e-mails isn’t your thing, be sure to come back to the blog next Wednesday, September 5. You’ll find a link to listen or download the podcast and the show notes.

All of my thanks go to the guests who so generously donated their time to this new project and to all of you who waited patiently, sending me messages now and then, to remind me how much you were looking forward to the Blake Hill House Podcast.
I can’t wait.
Want to be a guest on an upcoming episode? I want to hear your story. The first step is to fill out this brief survey: BHH Podcast Inquiry and then, let’s talk.
PS: During the month of October, the topic is ghost stories. Are you a paranormal believer or a skeptic like me? Not all ghost stories are scary. If you feel that your old house has a caretaker or maybe a menace, please fill out the survey. Scary stories are welcome too!

Thank you, Kelly!

You never cease to amaze me. Your drive and enthusiasm for your projects is infectious, and the scope of work you do (the house, the blog, the podcasts, home schooling, running, etc…) makes my head spin. When you offer to help me, I am always shocked you can even find the time. May I, some day soon, be just like you 🙂 (But still me, because that would make you much happier.)

Thank you, Holly. <3 The honest truth is that my kids are older, and that is why I get things done. They are self-sufficient enough that I have more time to work.

Yea! How exciting! And yea for ghosts! (Our particular caretaker has been quite active lately, and I still haven’t figured out what she’s trying to bring to our attention. Probably the insulation in the attic that fell down…) Can’t wait to listen ?
