The roof project continues. The shingle portion is complete, and the intense clean-up has begun. While the roofers have been busy overhead, I have been working on something else.
A few months ago, Andy and I bought a beautiful old desk at an estate sale. After we gave it a little TLC, I posted the project on Hometalk. Sometimes, I throw a project out into the Internet and nothing happens, but on occasion, something nice occurs. That was the case with with our desk. Hometalk contacted me and asked if I would curate another board about refurbishing old or antique desks. Of course, I said yes.
I enjoy curating boards for Hometalk because I love to pore over everyone’s projects. Since BHH is over 100 years old, and it has very classic architecture, we are trying to keep all of our furnishings and decorations very classic traditional or transitional. Curating Hometalk boards lets me indulge my love for the design of every style from fancy Victorian to mid-century modern. This includes statement pieces that fall far outside the lines that we are coloring in our own home.
For the collection I am sharing today, I tried to find a variety of desk projects for all styles and budgets. I think they are all pretty great, but you will notice that I have a slight fascination with antique school desks. My preoccupation with them began after my recent purchase of some really beautiful old school chairs from a local antique shop. I will photos of them soon. Right now the chairs are waiting for some polish and shine.
When you click on the image below, it will take you to the collection on Hometalk. Feel free to follow me or that board while you are there. I plan on adding more clips as I discover additional, relevant content to share. I would love to hear what you think about this collection or your own refurbished desk project. Thank you for taking a peek.
