Many people have expressed an interest in the history of this old EA home. When we close, I will receive a full history, and I will share it with you.
When Andy and I, and two of the boys first viewed the home, we did so when another family was also looking at it with great interest. Their realtor was telling them about some of the history, and there were pamphlets and old pictures about the home’s history available.
I am not sure how Andy felt, but I was quite giddy looking at all the space and the details of the home. Because of that, I could not focus on anything other than maintaining a proper “poker face.”
I had instructed the boys about maintaining a neutral demeanor while we were in the home. They were so cute. They politely went from room to room, gently opening closet doors, considering each space, and then taking turns whispering in my ear, “I want this house. Can we please buy this one?” I was so proud of their excellent behavior.
On the menu bar at the top of the page, I have created a History tab. I will update that page as soon as I am able. For now, I can tell you that it was built in 1886. For some perspective, that was around 60 years before my mother was born, and it was built around 35 years before my paternal grandmother was born. She is still alive and well in her mid-90’s. So, it is safe to say that some water has passed under a few bridges since this house was built.
