This new weekly video series is a casual look into my day-to-day DIY life at Blake Hill House. Last week, fall colors nearly hit their peak, and podcast prep week cut into my DIY time.
While I am very ready to start something new, tying up loose ends in my daughter’s bedroom makeover continues. Will that poor girl ever get to move back into her room? We are inching ever closer to the big reveal.
The week wrapped with a look at the new (very old) rug in the living room. That rug started out as a stinky Facebook Marketplace find, and now it sets the stage for the whole room. There will be a meaty post all about it on Thursday’s One Room Challenge update.
Admittedly, my casual videos have no plot or character development, but I am working on it. Fall is such a beautiful time here, so for now, the changing leaves are the stars of the show. Plot can wait.

That new rug looks like it works in the space of the living room much better than the old rug(s). Looks like a great start to the ORC!

I agree completely. So many items in our house, including most of our rugs, have been placeholders. We are finally at a point where we can be a little more intentional about decor.

I really enjoy these videos!
The fall colors, the dog in the living room (people, what ARE you doing??), The amazing windows you’re restoring, it’s all very nice!

Thank you so much for watching. Millie is so funny with all of our projects. She has to be right in the middle of everything. 🙂
