This new weekly series is a casual look into my day-to-day DIY life at Blake Hill House. Last week, we took a bit of a financial hit after discovering three dead trees, destroyed by the Emerald Ash Borer. Andy also shared some interesting thoughts about what we should really do for our One Room Challenge Living Room project.
As usual, Millie’s cameos stole the show. And finally, after months of fits and starts, my daughter and I finished her bedroom makeover. There will be a separate video and post for that big reveal.
Thank you for watching!

You could post videos of Millie every day and I would be here for it. 😀 She reminds me of my childhood black lab, Shadow.
Too bad about your trees–we need to remove a diseased tree at our house but thankfully it’s small enough that we can do it ourselves.
I’ll be honest, I tend to prefer text format to videos overall, but videos certainly give the audience a better feeling for the space and scale of a room! The combination of text and video is winning me over.

Millie is the star! Shadow is the perfect name for a black lab. 😀
I am so glad you can remove your trees as a DIY project. I have a couple of small ornamentals here that I would like to remove as well. They will be manageable as a DIY too.
Thank you for watching the video. I am trying to come up with a good balance of video and text. So many things happen weekly, that video makes it easier to document. However, writing is my first love, and it’s fun to write blog articles too.

Really enjoyed the video; adds more dimension to BHH life. Too funny about the 70s pit in the living room. He wasn’t serious right? It seems that tree removal has been a big part of living there (cypress? by porch before). Ready to see the bedroom makeover post ?

haha! I love that you aren’t quite sure if Andy was serious or not. Even if he was, there’s no way I’d do any of that. LOL
We have had quite a bit of tree trouble here at BHH. You have a good memory.
